Amy & Brian Northway
Owners
Brian and Amy got married in 2002 and dreamt of their own business they could start and grow to help people. With Brian’s background in the trades as an electrician and Amy’s creative mind, they opened up their own electrical business. After working for a number of years, they decided they were on the wrong path, so Brian took a job working with the manufacturer, Briggs and Stratton. Over his 10-year career at Briggs, Brian worked in sales, started and led the dealer development division, spent time as a product manager, field service manager, and developed and led the training division. He also got multiple patents and innovation awards that have been granted to him that are being used in the generator and technology industry. He also got, and still has, the opportunity to sit on Code Making Panel 13 for the National Electrical Code as well as the technical committee for PGMA. During these 10 years of Brian at Briggs, Amy took the vital role of supporting Brian, and the rest of their family by helping Brian with different projects and offering ideas that helped him advance. As Brian was able to travel the globe to understand the needs of not only dealers in the States but also the different needs for power around the world. Generators became a passion that both Brian and Amy shared. As they realized it was time to get back into a more hands-on role, give back to the generator dealers Brian had worked with by providing them with an easier way to do business and renew their dream to have their own business, they decided to move across the country to Texas and become owners of Power Solutions Specialist. As they continue to work together to grow and make the company better, they feel blessed and are grateful every day that the dream they had when they were young had finally come true.

Artie
Delivery and Warehouse Manager
Before working with Power Solutions Specialists, Artie worked in the oilfield for 20 years. Now, he works as the Delivery and Warehouse Manager and makes sure the generators get to the right places at the right time. Artie also loves to go camping and enjoy nature in his free time.
Carol
Service-Coordinator
Before working with Power Solutions Specialists, Carol had 10 years of experience with industrial generators and standby home generators. She is a professional office administrator with project management experience and an office systems specialist. Carol studied at Anchorage Community College in Anchorage, Alaska, and the COTM School of Ministry in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In her free time, she enjoys hunting and fishing, especially the salmon in Alaska. She also loves to do activities with her family and grandchildren who are all boys!
Curly
Service Technician II
Before Curly worked with Power Solutions, he built cabinets for 4 years at R&B Cabinets and was an electrician at Conroe Empire Electric for 18 years. Outside of work, Curly likes to ride four-wheelers, racing R/C cars, and drag-racing nostalgia top-fuel motorcycles for Southern Motorcycles.

Service Manager
Before Graham worked with generators, he served in the Army for 5 years. He then went to the Universal Technical Institute and has been working with generators for over 5 years. In his free time, Graham enjoys spending time with family and gaming.
Jessica
Administrative Assistant Service and Sales
Jess has been with Power Solutions Specialist since February of 2023. Her experience with the administration in the medical field and as a production plant maintenance coordinator makes her a valuable asset to our team. Jess graduated from Lone Star College with certification in Power Equipment and a Level 1 Ammonia Tech (HVAC). Outside of work, she enjoys reading and loves the rain. Jess is the bright and cheerful voice you hear when calling Power Solutions. Her professional manner and excitement to give excellent customer service are contagious!
Nancy
Accounting Specialist
Nancy has been with Power Solutions Specialist since June of 2022. She brings with her office management, inside sales, and financial assistance experience from an engineering firm in telecommunications. A Native Houstonian, Nancy grew up in the east end. She enjoys many activities such as going to the beach, gardening, music concerts, and art festivals but says, “It’s not what you’re doing, it’s who you’re with that makes it fun!” Her great joy comes from her 5 children and 4 grandchildren. Nancy’s positive attitude and joyfulness makes her an awesome team member and a fun person to be around!

As the maintenance technician, Nick is a very hands-on worker. He does a number of different jobs, including repairs, putting in gas lines, and building racks for generators. In his free time, Nick enjoys playing all different kinds of sports.
Paula
Financial Controller
Paula has lots of experience in an office from being an Officer Manager to being a VP of Operations. She went to LBCC in Long Beach, California for two years and then to the International Trade Institute in Long Beach, California where she studied international letters of credit and export documentation. Paula likes to travel, plan parties, garden, and spend time with friends!
Roscoe
Service Technician II
Roscoe has been an electrician for 15 years and has been working with generators for 6 years. He has an AA in electrical technology as well as a Certificate for Residential HVAC/Commercial HVAC and Industrial Technology from Merced Junior College in California. Roscoe enjoys floating the rivers, and barbequing and has an extreme love for the outdoors. Between his knowledge and curiosity, he can fix any problem!

Think of all the things you’ll want to power up when using your generator, including lights, refrigerator, the number of AC units, dryer, pool pump, and more. - Age & Usage: Realistically, the age of your generator isn’t really determined by its physical age but by how many hours it gets used every year. The average standby generator has been designed to last for 10,000 to 30,000 hours of use.
- Ongoing Repairs: Aside from preventative maintenance, you should not have to repair your generator more than once or twice a year. If your generator is breaking down almost every time you’re using it then it might be time for a new one.
- Start Up Issues & Excessive Fuel: A new generator should start up quickly, but if you have a generator that is supposed to come on automatically when the power goes out, you shouldn’t have to go out and manually mess with the generator to start it, unless you run out of fuel. Also, if your generator hasn’t been properly maintained or is starting to wear due to age, fuel usage will start to go up. In some cases parts can be repaired or replaced, but the whole generator will eventually need to be swapped out for a new one.
- Power Output Consistency: One of the main reasons to get a new generator is to have consistent and steady power. If you’re using the same amount of energy but things start to flicker or you experience brownouts while using the generator it might be time for a new one.
