Generator Requirements

  • Briggs and Stratton Air Cooled Product ONLY
  • EPA Certified Generators
  • Must have Remote Monitoring and Maintenance Agreement in place to receive rebate
  • Great test for the generator
  • No need for bi-annual burn off (2- 45 minute runs)
  • Priority emergency response
  • Minimum annual run time is 30 minutes - Maximum annual run time is 36 hours -The 36 hours will not be consecutive. Longest single runtime to date is 2 hours.
  • Homeowner will get an annual rebate for participating in the program of up to $200 for the first year and up to $150 every year after. Gas cost on average will be a few dollars for the 30 minutes. This is based on $1.20 per THERM.
  • When demand is critically high- ERCOT will automatically remove you from the grid and your generator will provide power to your home. When this occurs, it is a seamless switch to the generator and then back to utility when the demand is less.
